The Edmund Hillary Block is a six-storey in-patient building that adds 240 in-patient beds, and 12,600m2 of space to the Middlemore Campus.

- 2 x 30 - bed surgical ward, 2 x 30 - bed medical ward
- Gastroenterology unit and clinics
- 30 Bed Gastroenterology Ward
- Cardiac investigation unit
- Medical short stay unit
- Haematology day ward and clinics
- Allied health offices and gymnasium
- Staff cafeteria
- Clinical equipment pool and orthotics
