This project incorporated a new 3-storey building extension at the end of the main podium, at North Shore Hospital. It includes the replacement of the existing ground floor Emergency Department with an Assessment and Diagnostic Unit, and a new Emergency Department located in the new wing. Lower ground floor areas provide Staff Offices and Facilities.

The Lakeview building is situated in the eastern corner of the North Shore Hospital site, overlooking Lake Pupuke with extensive views both to and from the lake. The design maximises the potential of this beautiful site and deals sensitively with the urban design considerations of its prominent location.

The second phase of the Lakeview Project included a new Cardiac floor consisting of a new Coronary Care and Step-down unit, Cardiac ward and two full Cardiac Catheterisation labs and recovery and support.
