Barry Williams

Barry is a Registered Architect and Senior Associate at Klein, with more than 26 years’ architectural experience. His focus is on large and complex healthcare projects, and he brings expertise to aged care and retirement living. He has led the documentation on notable projects including Tiaho Mai Acute Mental Health Unit at Middlemore Hospital; the Burwood Hospital redevelopment in Christchurch; and the Harley Gray Clinical Services Building at Middlemore Hospital.

As documentation and production team leader, Barry brings critical analysis and excellent organisation and coordination skills to projects. He contributes at all stages of design development – from facilities masterplanning and concept design to the exacting details of construction documentation. He has extensive skills in volumetric representation, including 3D modelling and is a practice champion for buildability and better ways of building. He assists with the management of Klein’s project BIM execution plans and the project BIM 360 portal.

Barry maintains Klein’s high drawing standards, ensuring the preparation of practical, robust construction detailing solutions, clear and comprehensive project documentation that results in more accuracy at tender, with less chance of ambiguity and fewer variations. Highly precise and methodical in his approach, he is motivated to deliver exceptional health environments that enhance the well-being of service users and staff, and provide the organisation a solid asset that will serve them for decades to come.
