Theatres and Catheter Laboratory
This project was an exciting challenge in that it involved maintaining current operations within the theatre suite with minimal disruption, this was achieved by careful staging, decanting and communication.
It included an internal refurbishment within the Theatre Suite to provide three new general operating theatres, a theatre administration zone, or hub, associated support including inwards goods and sterile supplies and a staff support zone encompassing staff change and lunchroom.
It required decanting of the Anaesthetic Department and refurbishment of an adjacent area in the hospital to accommodate the new department.
A new cardiac catheterisation laboratory and adjacent suite was located and designed to future proof the zone for another operating theatre when further Cath Labs are required in a purpose built facility. The suite includes a pre and post op area, control room and support utilities.
